Graphic Design Scholarship

Influence Print Annual Award for Excellence: Graphic Design Scholarship

Are you a graphic or visual design student? Do you think you have an award-winning design? Every year we award one talented student a $1,000 college scholarship. Will that student be you?

As a commercial printing company in New York City, we’ve seen all kinds of design across the years. Some of those designs are out of this world and some, well, are, ahem quite earthly. In order to further support and encourage the graphic design community, we created an annual graphic/visual design scholarship for students majoring in graphic design or related applied arts and who have exceptional creative abilities.

All submitted works must be digitally created and based in visual communication design such as:

  • Graphic design
  • Industrial design
  • Advertising
  • Animation
  • Illustration
  • Drawing
  • Typography
  • 3D design
  • Branding

The winner gets their design featured on our website, a site visited by some of New York City’s leading print buyers, creative directors, production managers, designers and graphic artists.

The winner also receives a large-format (up to 96×48 inch) copy of their work, printed on our state-of-the-art Epson Surecolor high resolution printer (free of charge, of course).

    About her design, “Empowered”

“My digital piece, ‘Empowered’ is meant to emulate how I feel when I create art that I enjoy. My strongest emotions are tied to my art, and how I feel directly correlates to the emotion that is placed within my art. I believe art allows everyone to connect to the diverse experiences of others. The emotion I wish to capture with this piece is the feeling of strength and confidence in women. I placed the women front and center to express that she is the center of this piece, and that her surroundings affect the light in which she is portrayed. The theme of my composition is to show the modern woman, empowered by the rights she has to work for equal pay, to be treated with respect, and confident in her ability to do well in her surroundings. The light in her eyes and the smile on her face is meant to convey that the future is bright, that she is looking past the viewer towards a hopeful time ahead.”
